Welcoming Our Newest Lumenary: Alouette Cervantes-Salazar

We are proud to welcome Alouette Cervantes-Salazar as the newest Lumenary in the LumenSparQ community.

Alouette serves as the Coordinator of the Dream Resource Center at East Los Angeles College, where she works alongside students who are navigating some of the most complex and challenging circumstances in higher education today. Her work supports undocumented and mixed-status students through academic guidance, legal resources, advocacy, and, just as importantly, a sense of belonging.

What makes Alouette’s work extraordinary is not only the services she helps provide, but the way she shows up every day. She creates a space that feels safe, human, and deeply caring. For many students, the Dream Resource Center becomes a place to pause, to breathe, and to regain hope when the path forward feels uncertain.

Alouette’s journey to this work is shaped by her own lived experience, her family’s story, and years of service across education, nonprofit leadership, social work, and financial wellness. Each chapter has prepared her to lead with empathy, clarity, and courage.

At LumenSparQ, we honor individuals who quietly change lives through consistency, compassion, and commitment to others. Alouette embodies all of this. Her impact reaches far beyond one office or one campus. It lives in the students who persist, who transfer, who graduate, and who continue forward because someone believed in them.

This is just a glimpse of Alouette’s story.

In the coming days, we’ll be sharing a full feature that dives deeper into her journey, the work of the Dream Resource Center, and the many students whose lives have been shaped by her leadership.

We are honored to recognize Alouette Cervantes-Salazar as a Lumenary whose light helps others find their way.
