At LumenSparQ, we often remind ourselves that generosity doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as recognizing a need, sharing what you have, and trusting that your gift will reach the right hands. Over the past few months, we’ve been honored to witness this spirit of giving from our friends, colleagues, and supporters who stepped forward with in-kind donations that will make a lasting difference.
Together, this generosity has added up to something extraordinary:
- 60 iPads donated during a school refresh, which will be distributed to multiple public schools and community organizations, putting powerful learning tools into the hands of students and families.
- Over 40 boxes of books that will soon find their way into classrooms and homes across the Lennox School District, St. Margaret’s Center, and local social workers providing services to students and families in need.
- A couple dozen reusable water bottles and multiple bags of gently used clothes that will provide daily comfort and care through the Husky Pop-Up Closet (formerly the ELAC Pop-Up Closet).
As with all of our in-kind donations, none of the items stay with us. Our role is to act as a bridge, connecting the generosity of individuals to the organizations that serve students and families directly. We are not the destination, but rather the conduit, shining a light on community kindness and helping it travel where it’s most needed.
And the timing couldn’t be better. The Husky Pop-Up Closet will celebrate its newly renamed grand opening in September, stocked and ready to support students with essentials thanks in part to the clothing and water bottles donated by our community. Families in Lennox will soon have access to boxes of books that were generously given, ensuring that young learners can continue to grow in literacy and the love of reading. Meanwhile, iPads that might otherwise have sat unused will become powerful tools for learning, connection, and creativity.
Every donation tells a story—not of scarcity, but of abundance shared. When one school upgrades its devices, it creates opportunities for others. When someone cleans out a closet, students find clothing they need for school and beyond. When we pass forward what we have, we multiply the good in our communities.
